So this is my version of Martha Stewart’s Slow Cooker Mac and Cheese. I will say that I changed up Martha’s Recipe slightly. My son declared this recipe one of the best macaroni and cheese recipes that he has ever had.

When I saw a recipe for mac and cheese in Martha Stewart’s Slow Cooker cookbook I knew that I wanted to make it for my birthday. I consider mac and cheese a main dish, not a side dish. I could probably eat mac and cheese once a week for dinner. Mac and cheese though is one of my comfort foods so I choose it for my birthday dinner. I don’t like to tempt her so I only make it a few times a year. I don’t make mac and cheese often because my daughter loves mac and cheese, but she eats dairy-free. This recipe for Martha Stewart’s Slow Cooker Macaroni and Cheese is the mac and cheese I made for my birthday back in December.

That is quite the title isn’t it? Martha Stewart calls it three cheese macaroni, but since it is made in the slow cooker, I had to put that in the title as well.įor short we will just call it Martha Stewart’s Slow Cooker Mac and cheese. Turning this comfort food classic into an entire meal. To add in some additional flavors, you can throw in some bacon, ham, shrimp, lobster, chili, or even some fried chicken. This takes a little bit longer but it makes all the difference in this Southern homemade macaroni and cheese. The bags of shredded cheese just aren’t the same. The elbow macaroni has PLENTY of time to cook and it turns out perfectly!īut I DO recommend that you grate your own cheese. Again – I’m always looking for ways to save time in the kitchen. The original recipe also requires you to cook the macaroni before placing it in the slow cooker. The tried and true ingredients are macaroni, milk, butter, cheese and a few spices.
Personally though, this recipe doesn’t need eggs. Trisha’s original recipe has 2 large eggs, beaten. Mix well and bake at 350 degrees F for 50 minutes. Important Note: You can also make this in the oven.
Delight the entire family with this creamy mac and cheese. This has become my go-to recipe when I need to put something together quickly with ingredients I almost always have on hand.
